Accounts & Payroll Assistant Office Position – Part Time 

 

Commencing September/October 2021

 

North East Civil Construction have a busy and varied role for an Accounts & Payroll Clerk/Office Assistant within our team. You will join a progressive, friendly team focused on quality and customer service within a civil construction environment.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, excel and accounting skills; have a positive attitude; a strong work ethic; and outstanding attention to detail.

The role will be multifaceted and will comprise accounts & payroll tasks, as well as general office & reception duties as required.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Accounts receivable and payable support to the Accounts & Payroll Manager
  • Payroll support to the Accounts & Payroll Manager, including weekly wages, PAYG, Super & Payroll tax reporting
  • Reception duties
  • Customer service to internal and external customers, both in person and over the phone
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Receive, distribute and manage incoming Reception Emails
  • Timesheet and invoice data entry
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence, letters, etc
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • General data entry into our companies industry specific software, Workbench
  • Maintaining an online filing system
  • Support day-to-day office administration

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Pride of workmanship
  • Proficiency in MYOB Accountright
  • Proven experience in accounting functions including payables, receivables and payroll is required
  • Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and Outlook, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Positive work attitude and value effective teamwork
  • Knowledge of the civil construction industry is valued but not necessarily required

 

Approximately 32 hours (4 days) per week
