North East Civil Construction has the experience, knowledge and equipment to carry out various earthworks for dam, spillway and other irrigation construction.
In 2016 NECC re-built and raised the existing height of the spillway at Lake Anderson in Chiltern. These works included replacing the existing heritage footbridge with a virtual replica and construction of a secondary spillway.
The existing spillway required extensive redesign to allow a large tree of significance within the work zone to remain untouched, it was also found during construction that the existing footings of the spillway were in very poor condition. NECC had extensive on site discussion with Indigo Shire regarding the issues found and we were then requested to do a full design and construction of the spillway to accommodate these conditions.
The secondary spillway was constructed using exposed aggregate the spillway concrete was colour treated to match in with surrounded heritage constructions.
In 2015 NECC carried out HDPE lining of a 75m x 50m x 3-4m deep water storage dam for North East Water in Tawonga South. This project included construction of concrete spillways, leak detection pits, fencing and all other associated works. This work was awarded in a very short time frame at the end of October and had to be completed prior to the December Christmas period, which NECC are proud to say they completed on time and on budget.
NECC also provided On-Farm earthworks for the construction of dams & channels, predominantly in the Northern Irrigation district.
